Libraries and Literacy: Moving Forward

Keynote Speaker – Genevieve Clarke,
The Vital Link (United Kingdom)

A strong proponent of library/literacy initiatives and collaborations in the United Kingdom, Genevieve Clarke works for The Reading Agency. She is National Coordinator for The Vital Link libraries and adult literacy programme and has also been working closely with the BBC and major UK publishers on related initiatives such as the RAW campaign (Read more And Write better), First Choice book collections, and the World Book Day launch of easier–to-read novellas by such mainstream authors as Johanna Trollope.

The Reading Agency was founded in 2002 on the principle that reading has infinite potential for making life richer and that libraries are the most democratic medium for bringing reading to people. It works with libraries to research and plan programmes, provide resources and training and build links with new partners. For more information visit www.readingagency.org.uk
